Iconic second-generation K-pop girl group 2NE1, known for their unique style and numerous hits, is set to reunite for their first solo concert in 10 years and 7 months. The concert, titled "2024 2NE1 Concert 'Welcome Back' in Seoul," will take place on October 5th and 6th at the Olympic Hall in Seoul.
Despite fans' concerns about the 3,000-seat capacity of Olympic Hall being too small, YG Entertainment explained that booking larger venues was not possible as they were already reserved. The agency mentioned that securing Olympic Hall itself was a stroke of luck.
Following the Seoul concert, 2NE1 will perform in Kobe's World Hall in late November and Tokyo's Ariake Arena in early December. Although the Japanese concerts were confirmed first, the members insisted on starting the tour in Korea.
2NE1 debuted under YG Entertainment in 2009, quickly rising to fame with hits like "I Am the Best" and "I Don't Care." They have held two world tours and achieved significant milestones, including reaching number 61 on the Billboard 200 with their 2014 album "Crush."
The group made a surprise reunion at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2022, marking their first performance as a full group in over six years. CL, who was performing at the festival, invited fellow members Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Minzy to join her on stage.
Since then, the members have stayed in touch, and earlier this year, they officially decided to reunite. Although none of the members are currently signed with YG Entertainment, YG's head producer, Yang Hyun-suk, is collaborating with them for this concert.
Tickets for the Seoul concert will be available for general sale on August 5th at 8 PM through Interpark Ticket.
