Super Junior's Eunhyuk Donates 100 Million KRW to Support Children Awaiting Adoption

Super Junior's Eunhyuk has donated 100 million KRW to support children awaiting adoption.

On the 27th, the Eastern Social Welfare Society announced that Super Junior’s Eunhyuk (real name Lee Hyuk-jae) donated 100 million KRW to support the healthy growth and development of children awaiting adoption. This donation was made in commemoration of Eunhyuk’s father’s birthday (July 28th) and will be used to cover medical and treatment expenses for children under the care of the Eastern Social Welfare Society.

Many children waiting for adoption have developmental delays or need treatment due to a lack of proper care and protection after birth. The Eastern Social Welfare Society plans to provide continuous medical support, including examination and treatment costs, to help these children grow up healthy and find permanent families.

Eunhyuk became aware of the lives of children awaiting adoption through the Eastern Social Welfare Society, where his father had worked. In 2008, he, along with three other Super Junior members, participated as "one-day dads" in a group first birthday party for these children, creating unforgettable memories. Additionally, Super Junior has previously donated 15 million KRW from home shopping sales to support underprivileged children while serving as exclusive models for a company.

Eunhyuk stated, “I am happy to make this meaningful donation to the Eastern Social Welfare Society through a special connection thanks to my father. I hope the children waiting for adoption can become healthy as soon as possible.”

Kim Jin-sook, president of the Eastern Social Welfare Society, expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank Super Junior’s Eunhyuk for his continuous interest in the bright future of children awaiting adoption. This donation will be a strong support for these children to be embraced by loving families.”

The Eastern Social Welfare Society, established in 1972, is a professional social welfare organization providing comprehensive welfare services to marginalized neighbors such as children, single-parent families, adolescents, the disabled, the elderly, and Filipino Kopino families.
